Security Officer East Valley

Position Overview

At Banner Health, our Security Services team plays a critical role in ensuring the safety of patients, visitors, and staff. As a Security Officer in the East Valley, you will patrol facilities and grounds at locations including Banner Desert, Banner Ironwood, and Banner Goldfield, responding to emergencies, managing security incidents, and ensuring a secure environment across varied shifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Patrol facilities and grounds to maintain the safety and security of patients, visitors, and staff.
• Respond to emergency codes, critical incidents, and provide prompt assistance during security situations.
• Assist with restraining and managing combative patients, and support medical staff when needed.
• Monitor alarms, secure facility doors, and ensure adherence to security protocols.
• Prepare detailed security reports and, when required, testify in legal proceedings.

Required Qualifications

• Must maintain required security certifications and complete all mandatory training including the Banner Health Basic Officer Academy.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and a Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire.
• Demonstrate the physical fitness necessary to pass the required assessments (e.g., completing 48 steps and 20 squat thrusts in under 2 minutes).
• Exhibit excellent communication skills with the ability to write comprehensive security reports.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in law enforcement, military, corrections, or advanced security roles.
• Additional related education or healthcare security experience is a plus.
