Position Overview

Job Title: QA Engineer with HVAC or Manufacturing Workflows
Location: Plymouth, MN (hybrid on-site twice a week or as needed)
Duration: 6-12 months

We are seeking an experienced QA Engineer with exposure to HVAC or manufacturing workflows to support the DST / NextGen program within Daikin's Digital organization. This role focuses on manual functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing across complex business flows. The ideal candidate is strong in hands-on testing, documentation, and cross-team coordination. Experience with Azure DevOps or similar test management tools is preferred to support test case design, execution, and defect tracking.

Key Responsibilities

Test Planning & Documentation

  • Review BRDs, user stories, and process flows to derive test scenarios.
  • Create and maintain detailed test cases and test scripts in ADO or a comparable test management tool.
  • Ensure requirement-to-test traceability following Central Testing standards.

Test Execution

  • Perform hands-on manual testing across functional, integration, system, and regression cycles.
  • Record test results, maintain evidence, and prepare test data as needed.
  • Validate end-to-end workflows and data flows across multiple connected systems.

Defect Management

  • Log and track defects with clear reproduction steps and supporting documentation.
  • Retest and confirm fixes; escalate issues when needed.
  • Participate in testing calls and provide concise testing updates.

Quality Assurance Support

  • Follow Central Testing templates, documentation expectations, and QA governance.
  • Collaborate with product owners, SMEs, developers, and analysts to clarify requirements and resolve issues.

Required Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of hands-on manual testing experience.
  • Exposure to HVAC, manufacturing, or product configuration workflows.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps or similar tools for test case management, execution, and defect tracking.
  • Proven ability to coordinate testing across multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience testing workflow-driven and data-centric applications.
  • Solid understanding of integration points and cross-system interactions (no coding required).
  • Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to model-based testing concepts.
  • Hands-on experience with basic test automation for .NET applications (UI or API).
  • Familiarity with identifying automation candidates and supporting CI/CD pipelines.
  • Ability to work independently and manage deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in digital transformation or integration-heavy programs.
