Position Overview

The College of Arts and Humanities fosters creativity, culture and collaboration across the UCF community through 120+ degree programs and areas of study. The Human Resources Coordinator II position in the Dean's Office HR Business Center provides direct HR support by leveraging Workday expertise to process HR transactions, manage onboarding/offboarding, and assist with a variety of HR administrative tasks for faculty, staff, OPS hourly non-student employees, adjuncts, and OPS students.

Schedule: Monday-Friday; 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Salary: $20.29 to Negotiable

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide first point of HR customer service for creating positions, recruiting and hiring, managing and tracking employment changes, processing pay changes, assisting with timekeeping, and managing appointments. Oversee local onboarding and offboarding.
  • Connect employees with appropriate departments for other services as needed.
  • Maintain working knowledge of applicable bargaining agreements, policies, regulations, and procedures, ensuring process compliance and advising managers and employees accordingly.
  • Process HR transactions in Workday including employee job changes (hires, renewals), compensation changes, one-time payments, transfers, and promotions while maintaining data integrity.
  • Identify complex HR issues and escalate them to the HR Director as needed.
  • Facilitate the faculty recruitment process by coordinating with search committees, processing actions in Workday, and providing updates to department chairs/school directors.
  • Manage academic appointments (including administrative and named positions) within Workday.
  • Process and track faculty compensation actions, including summer salary, administrative salary, and discretionary increases.
  • Support the management of multiple administrative systems, including the faculty qualifications management system.
  • Collaborate with the HR Director to provide HR-related trainings to college employees as required.
  • Assist with the postdoctoral scholar hiring process by posting requisitions, providing status updates, processing actions in Workday, and connecting faculty and postdoctoral scholars with necessary departments.
  • Support associate deans, chairs, and directors in HR administrative tasks including preparation of personnel hiring files, timekeeping, and time audits.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 2+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in human resources, including entry level or internship experience.
  • Experience providing a high level of customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience working in higher education, education, nonprofit, and/or the public sector.
  • Experience using Workday or other HRIS/Applicant Tracking Systems.
  • Familiarity with UCF and the campus community is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality within an HR environment.
