Position Overview

Boeing Defense, Space & Security is seeking Systems Engineers (Entry-level, Associate or Experienced) to join the Space and Launch Engineering team in El Segundo, California. You will design and develop state-of-the-art, space-based communication systems for commercial, civil, and national security programs. In this role, you will work with domestic and international customers as part of a systems engineering team that spans the unit life cycle—from concept studies and system definition to satellite development and testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop next generation RF, digital, and optical satellite communication systems.
- Develop and verify multi-rate, fixed-point digital signal processing architectures.
- Allocate, define, and verify requirements and interfaces in the development of communication digital payloads.
- Develop performance and link budgets.
- Conduct performance analysis of signal processing models.
- Assist with conducting trade studies.
- Develop prototype demonstrations on flight-like communication subsystem testbeds.
- Support unit-level integration and performance simulations.
- Support ASIC and FPGA level system design and verification.
- Support hardware procurement, design reviews, and unit sell-offs.
Note: This role is fully onsite in El Segundo, CA.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
- For Entry Level: Bachelor or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (or non-US equivalent qualifications).
- For Associate Level: Typically 2 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
- For Experienced Level: Typically 5 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
- Education or experience in signal processing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a similar field with a focus on signal processing or algorithm development.
- Master’s degree or equivalent in signal processing or algorithm development is a plus.
- Experience in developing algorithms for hardware implementation on ASICs or FPGAs.
- Digital Signal Processing coursework, projects, or work experience.
- Experience with Simulink, Python, C++, or similar programming languages.
- Demonstrated leadership or substantive involvement in group-oriented project work.
- Familiarity with verification planning and applying theoretical knowledge to solve real-world problems.

- Compensation: Summary pay ranges – Level 1: $73,100 - $98,900; Level 2: $87,550 - $118,450; Level 3: $104,550 - $141,450.
