Position Overview
Rockwell Collins Inc. d/b/a Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Engineer, Software Engineering in Charlotte, NC. This is a hybrid position requiring work in the Charlotte office 3 days per week. Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement build procedures to support hardware and software product development and usage.
- Design, develop, document, test, and control diagnostic systems, and code and support avionics tools for the Avionics Software Tools Team.
- Collaborate using software configuration management tools and adhere to team development processes.
- Conduct multidisciplinary research and work with equipment designers in planning and developing electronic data processing systems for software products.
- Determine end-user needs by analyzing system capabilities, resolving issues with program intent, output requirements, and input data acquisition.
- Identify problems, evaluate options, and develop innovative solutions.
- Work with new technologies and tools, applying them effectively to current projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and five years of progressive experience in the avionics industry; alternatively, a master’s degree with three years of applicable experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of software experience with tools meeting RTCA DO-178B and/or RTCA DO-178C objectives.
- At least 3 years of experience in software development using Java, C/C++, and Python.
- Minimum of 2 years of software engineering experience with tools meeting RTCA DO-330 TQL-5 and/or TQL-4 objectives.
- At least 1 year of experience leading small to medium-sized engineering teams for DO-330 TQL-5 and/or TQL-4 objectives.
- Proven experience as the main reviewer for formal reviews of software developed to DO-330 standards.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for immigration sponsorship now or in the future.

- Compensation: $155,688.00 to $163,000.00 USD per year.
