Senior Platform DevOps Engineer (Onsite)

Position Overview

As a Senior Platform DevOps Engineer, you will herald a transformative era in software engineering by integrating development and operations through a comprehensive cloud-based platform. You will design, develop, implement and integrate predominantly cloud-based compute, network, and storage infrastructure while modernizing the program platform using advanced DevOps/DevSecOps tools and automation. This role, based onsite at the RTX Facility in Aurora, CO, offers a unique opportunity to work on a critical, strategic national asset.

Key Responsibilities

• Support transitioning a system that is tightly coupled to the underlying infrastructure
• Assist with architecture, design, development, integration, and support of build, integration & test, and deployment pipelines, optimizing performance and scalability across cloud-based environments
• Leverage company and industry best practices to improve scalability, consistency, infrastructure efficiency, reduce deployment time, and automate configuration management
• Collaborate with software engineers, data scientists, and agile teams to design and implement robust platform solutions
• Integrate security and compliance into the platform using services such as encryption and access management
• Provide operational support for the platform

Required Qualifications

• BS/BA Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or Physics with a minimum of 5 years of related work experience
• Experience designing, implementing, and integrating cloud-based systems on infrastructure platforms such as AWS
• Experience with automation frameworks such as Terraform, Ansible, and Chef
• Proficiency in programming/scripting languages (e.g. Python, Java, Ruby, Bash, C++, C#, Go)
• Current TS/SCI with CI Poly security clearance required from day one; U.S. citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience deploying, configuring, and supporting CICD pipeline tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Artifactory, GitLab)
• Experience developing, testing, and delivering applications within a DevSecOps framework
• Experience with RedHat Linux and troubleshooting applications & infrastructure services on Linux-based systems
• Experience with scanning tools (e.g. Nessus, Fortify, Anchore)
• Infrastructure experience with computers, networks, storage, and virtualization
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud
• Background in COTS/FOSS product installation, configuration, and integration
• Must meet DoD 8570 IAT level II requirements (Security+ CE or equivalent)
