Job Description

Position Overview

Title: End User Support Specialist

Location:

Houston, TX (onsite) – Need local consultants only

Duration:

6 - 8 months
Compensation:$13/hr
Provide support for all phases of the personal computer lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Image and complete computer builds, and finalize the installation to the business core load specification as assigned.
  • Receive materials, inventory systems and parts, and maintain accurate asset and inventory management records using approved procedures and work processes.
  • Respond to queries, run diagnostic programs, isolate problem, and determine and implement solutions related to computer systems, hardware, software, printers, and smart phones.
  • Schedule and coordinate warranty repairs with service providers and internal clients.
  • Train end-users on basic hardware and software operations.
  • Ensure functioning anti-virus, anti-malware systems are installed/configured/updated properly.
  • Perform end-user virmalware remediation.
  • Recommend feasible system improvements to manager.
  • Formulate recommendations for improvements within scope of assigned work proactively.
  • Cooperate and collaborate with peers and interact cross-organizationally as specified by manager.
  • Ensure effective utilization of business processes.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated knowledge to configure and deploy computers, printers, storage, and other personal computer related devices.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds, occasionally.
  • Demonstrated successful working relationships with clients, suppliers, and other internal and external contacts.
  • Demonstrated successful and positive personal leadership, interpersonal, organizational, administrative, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated continuous improvement in areas of responsibility.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Availability to travel, domestically, less than 5%.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in computer technology or related field, or equivalent via education and/or work experience.
  • 1 year of related work experience.
  • Help Desk experience or similar.
  • Microsoft Windows operating systems proficiency.
  • Experience with imaging software.
  • Effective documentation skills.
