Robotics Automation Engineer
Job Description
Job Description
Our client, a pioneering force in advanced manufacturing, is seeking a highly skilled Robotics Automation Engineer to join their innovative, fully remote team. This role is crucial for designing, developing, and implementing cutting-edge robotic systems that will revolutionize production lines. You will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of automation projects, from initial concept and design to programming, testing, commissioning, and ongoing support. This includes specifying robotic hardware, selecting appropriate end-effectors, and developing sophisticated control logic and motion paths. You will work closely with mechanical and electrical engineers to integrate robotic solutions into existing manufacturing infrastructure.
A key aspect of this role involves programming industrial robots from various manufacturers (e.g., FANUC, KUKA, ABB) using their respective proprietary languages and associated software packages. Experience with PLC programming (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens) and HMI development is highly desirable. You will also be involved in troubleshooting automation systems, identifying and resolving complex technical issues to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of automation principles, kinematics, dynamics, and control theory. Proficiency in CAD software for robotic cell design and simulation tools for virtual commissioning is essential. This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in industrial automation and robotics. Experience with vision systems, sensor integration, and industrial networking protocols is a significant advantage.
You should have a proven ability to lead automation projects, manage timelines, and deliver robust, efficient solutions. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a remote setting are critical. This is an exceptional opportunity to shape the future of manufacturing automation with a forward-thinking company.
