Job Description
Position Overview
The Healthcare Revenue Cycle Senior Manager provides clients with senior-level healthcare consulting services by assessing the client’s business needs, recommending and implementing solutions, and managing BDO and client staff in this process. The position reflects significant industry experience in a hospital or practice setting commensurate with a senior leadership role. This role requires extensive travel (50% or more) to client sites and involves managing multiple large-scale projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop central patient access and revenue cycle functions on a project basis, including establishing a single business office for professional and hospital services, a central patient access unit for registration and scheduling, and standardized policies and procedures.
- Assess revenue cycles by reviewing front and backend operations, analyzing and redesigning workflow, conducting performance metric analyses, and benchmarking.
- Analyze report functions, evaluate revenue cycle systems (including third-party solutions), and review charge capture (manual and EHR) along with reconciliation processes.
- Identify and prioritize opportunities for improvement, providing recommendations for optimal staffing size, structure, and benchmarking.
- Act as Charge Data Master by overseeing projects such as physician education, coding and compliance audits, EHR form/template assessments, code scrubber technologies, and CDM assessment and maintenance.
- Manage interim revenue cycle operations for clients, including engaging with executive leadership, supervising teams, handling third-party contracting and settlement negotiations, and assisting in vendor selection for outsourced billing management.
- Supervise day-to-day workload on assigned engagements, review work product, and identify opportunities to up-sell additional services post engagement.
- Provide leadership by taking ownership of large projects from initiation to completion, ensuring client satisfaction and effective communication with BDO senior leadership and client management to meet budget and target dates.
- Travel 50% or more of the time to client sites.
- Perform other duties as required.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
- Experience Required: Fifteen (15) or more years in healthcare finance, revenue cycle operations, clinical operations, or vendor/consultant-based roles; five (5) or more years’ experience with healthcare EHR vendor systems for large group practices or hospitals.
- Requirements: Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, Visio, and SharePoint is required.
- Responsibilities: Proven ability to manage and supervise teams on large-scale projects and oversee multiple engagements simultaneously.
- Qualifications: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong analytical and research capabilities, and solid organizational skills with a keen attention to detail. Must be able to work independently or collaboratively and interact effectively with professionals at all levels.
- Experience Required: Ability and willingness to travel 50% or more.
Preferred Qualifications
- Qualifications: Epic Certification is preferred.
- Qualifications: Proficiency in Epic, Cerner, or athenaIDX is preferred.
- Qualifications: Demonstrated executive presence, excellent presentation skills, and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with both internal teams and clients.

- Salary: National Range: $115,000 - $170,000; NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $115,000 - $170,000; Maryland Range: $115,000 - $170,000.
