Driver / Warehouse

Position Overview

The driver / warehouse position is responsible for maintaining a professional appearance and knowledge of materials delivered to the customer. The driver / warehouse employee will safely drive and handle all materials in accordance with the company’s standards of service. This role is also responsible for various duties in the warehouse, including receiving, storing, and distributing material, tools, equipment, and products to ensure accuracy and timeliness. Reports To: Warehouse Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver company materials to customers in a professional manner
• Effectively and professionally communicate with the public
• Safely operate vehicles (automatic/manual transmission) in accordance with legal and company standards
• Perform shipping and receiving duties including loading and unloading trucks
• Review customer, work, and shipping orders to determine items to be picked, packed, distributed, or shipped/transferred
• Move materials from receiving or storage areas to shipping or designated areas
• Sort and place materials on racks, shelves, or in bins according to a predetermined sequence
• Assemble customer orders from stock and organize orders on pallets or shelves
• Utilize computers and RF guns to manage sales orders and inventory data
• Participate in cycle counting of physical inventory
• Open boxes and other containers as required
• Operate a wire cutter to cut wire according to customer orders
• Operate a forklift in the warehouse setting
• Maintain cleanliness by sweeping, dusting, and mopping, and keep the work area orderly
• Ensure the warehouse remains accessible and safe for salespeople and customer traffic
• Assist customers at will call and walk-in as needed

Required Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED
• Class C driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

• 3 to 4 years of experience in material handling preferred
• 3 to 4 years of customer service experience preferred
• 2+ years’ experience in the Electrical supply industry preferred
