Position Overview

The Jewish Museum, located on New York City's Museum Mile, serves people of all religious, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds through world-class exhibitions that span from ancient to contemporary art. Founded in 1904, the Museum maintains a unique collection of nearly 30,000 works reflecting over 4,000 years of the global Jewish experience. The Digital Marketing & Advertising Coordinator supports the Museum’s public engagement goals through digital and print marketing, advertising, and web initiatives. Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Web Strategy within the Public Engagement and Partnerships Department, this role works across multiple departments to develop and implement integrated promotional strategies that drive onsite visitation and audience engagement. Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Museum’s public engagement and audience development goals.
  • Contribute to integrated digital and print marketing efforts that enhance the visibility of the Museum, drive onsite visitation, and foster deeper audience engagement across exhibitions, programs, and initiatives.
  • Participate in the development and execution of integrated promotional strategies across various channels.
  • Coordinate with departments such as Visitor Experience, Education & Programs, Curatorial, and Development to implement cohesive multichannel campaigns.
  • Assist in website content management and optimization, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and brand consistency while supporting SEO initiatives.
  • Contribute to media planning and advertising tasks, including the selection, scheduling, delivery, and budgeting of digital and print ad placements.
  • Help develop ad and print collateral materials by working with the Director on copy composition and creative briefs for visuals, layouts, and motion graphics.
  • Assist in setting up and deploying paid social media and Google advertising campaigns, including targeting, scheduling, and optimization.
  • Prepare and analyze marketing performance reports by gathering and interpreting data from tools like Google Analytics and ad platforms.

Required Qualifications

  • 2 - 3 years of experience working on a cross-functional marketing team in either a nonprofit or for-profit setting.
  • Understanding of digital advertising, SEO, SEM, and audience targeting strategies.
  • Experience in maintaining and optimizing website content within a CMS (e.g., WordPress).
  • Skill in interpreting analytics and preparing actionable reports to inform marketing strategy.
  • Ability to balance multiple deadlines, collaborate across teams, and manage deliverables efficiently.
  • Strong writing skills for developing promotional copy, social media posts, and advertising materials that adhere to a consistent brand voice and editorial guidelines.
  • Familiarity with visual design principles and experience working with creative teams or designers.
  • An interest in art and prior experience at an art museum is considered a plus.
