2026 New-Grad Entry Level Engineer Rotation Program (California/CCTP)

Position Overview
Skanska is seeking recent graduates in Civil Engineering, Construction Management and similar disciplines for full-time employment in our Skanska USA Civil West Core Competency Training Program (CCTP) beginning in 2026. The CCTP is not an internship; it is a full-time rotational program designed to give entry-level engineers exposure to all areas of our business—from office/field engineering to preconstruction/estimating and project/cost controls. Over a 24‑month period, participants complete three rotations, each lasting 6–9 months, under the guidance of experienced professionals and close management oversight. At the conclusion of the program, employees are assigned to positions that best match their strengths and skills.
Salary: USD $66,700.00 - $91,000.00 per year
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, review, forward and track status of submittals
- Initiate, prepare, review, track and distribute RFIs
- Assist in management of project permit process
- Assist in preparations of bid packages and procurement
- Update construction schedule based on project team input, trade contractor progress and materials delivery
- Manage change systems by soliciting, receiving, reviewing, and preparing quotations and change orders
- Track and inspect material deliveries
- Compile reports regarding the financial performance of the project
- Assist in preparation of monthly owner project status reports, as required
- Attend and/or lead project meetings, recording meeting minutes as directed
- Assist and/or complete project close-out tasks
- Perform quantity take-offs and other estimating or preconstruction duties as required
- Communicate and enforce Skanska Safety and Health Management Program
- Demonstrate commitment to an injury-free environment through personal actions and mentoring
- Plan, coordinate, supervise and direct all planning and scheduling activities
- Provide development and implementation of project controls standards and procedures
- Interface and maintain liaison with project management, owners, subcontractors, etc., while fostering effective relationships
- Perform estimating or accounting activities as needed
- Undertake additional duties as required
Required Qualifications
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Understanding of the basic phases of construction projects
- Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
- Proficiency with computer programs such as MS Office, Outlook, AutoCAD, and scheduling software
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment
- Commitment to complying with company policies, practices, and performance standards
- Desire to pursue a long-term career in the heavy civil construction industry
- Education: Completed Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering (Civil, Mechanical) or a related field
