Fashion Social Media Coordinator and Photographer

Position Overview
December Thieves, a growing and constantly evolving fashion and design focused retail concept, is looking for a talented creative to translate our in-store brand experience to our social media platforms (@decemberthieves) and decemberthieves.com. This role is perfect for an organized and creative professional who can work closely with our owner and our E-commerce Coordinator to plan and execute on-brand content. You will capture the essence of our cultivated, globally sourced, slow fashion products, our beautiful Beacon Hill storefront, and the vibrant personalities behind our team. Must love fashion and have an impeccable eye for design. This isn’t the ideal fit for those with solely corporate experience or who haven’t worked with design-oriented clients. Additionally, you will be responsible for executing daily social media operations, enhancing brand visibility, and engaging with our audience. Exceptional photography skills and the necessary equipment are required.
Key Responsibilities
- Content Creation & Scheduling: Develop, curate, and schedule engaging content across social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok) to maintain a consistent and dynamic presence. Collaborate with the owner and the Ecommerce Coordinator on strategy.
- Assist in writing copy and creating multimedia content (photos/videos).
- Schedule weekly photoshoots to build an archive of images and keep our website fresh.
- Community Engagement: Actively engage with both local and global followers, build relationships with influencers, partners, and community members, and scout models for photoshoots and Instagram reels.
- Social Media Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor trends, competitor activity, and industry news while tracking key metrics for reporting and analysis.
Required Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience managing social media accounts, ideally in a small business setting.
- A keen eye for design and fashion, with the ability to produce highly aesthetic content (sample content may be requested on-site).
- Hands-on experience with social media platforms, content creation, and scheduling tools.
- Strong understanding of social media best practices and analytics.
- Proficiency with graphic design tools (Canva, Adobe Suite) and video editing software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Exceptional photography skills along with the necessary equipment to execute high-quality content.
- Creativity, flexibility, and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced retail environment.
