Position Overview
At Howmet Aerospace, we’re always in airplane mode! Join our global Corporate Information Technology team in Pittsburgh, PA as an Intern – Artificial Intelligence (IT) in Summer 2025. Over a 12‑week internship, you’ll tackle real‑world challenges, work on impactful assignments, and collaborate with industry changemakers as you contribute to engineered solutions in aerospace, automotive, defense, and commercial transportation.

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with developers and data scientists to develop, test, and deploy AI models.
- Perform data preprocessing, feature engineering, model training, and exploratory data analysis to uncover insights.
- Conduct research on the latest advancements in AI/ML and document models, experiments, and code clearly.
- Participate in IT projects that drive business value by contributing to the development, implementation, and support of new systems and information technologies.
- Engage with cross‑functional teams and business units to translate requirements into technical solutions while following departmental processes and procedures.
- Work hands‑on with tools like Python, OCI, and Azure and assist in the Intern Impact Project: Artificial Intelligence Finance Model Deployment – Proof of Concept Implementation.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor’s degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, or a related IT field with an expected graduation date in Fall 2025 or Spring 2026.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or equivalent.
- Demonstrated internship, work, research, or extracurricular experience with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
- Active participation in at least one extracurricular activity.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States (Visa sponsorship is not available for this position).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous internship experience in Information Technology with a global employer.
- A strong initiative to understand the business and aptitude for problem solving.
- Project experience with security tools, procedures, or reporting.
- Ability to manage projects and work collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Demonstrated leadership and solid decision‑making skills.
