Position Overview

As a Customer Service Consultant at CarMax, you will be the vital link between a customer's at-home and in-store experience. You’ll respond to sales leads and customer inquiries, guiding buyers through every step of their car buying journey with honesty and transparency. Key Responsibilities
- Connect with inbound customers online and over the phone to identify their vehicle needs.
- Leverage your knowledge of the CarMax inventory to guide customers toward the right vehicle.
- Assist customers from online sales or appraisal through to finance applications and vehicle delivery.
- Ensure a seamless transition from online inquiries to in-store purchasing for an unrivaled customer service experience.
- Mentor colleagues as your skillset grows and achieve sales targets while delivering an iconic customer experience.
- Acquire the Automotive Sales Persons License in specific states which may require testing and travel.
Required Qualifications
- Sales and customer service experience in retail or a similar environment is preferred.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced sales environment with strong listening skills and customer focus.
- High level of self-motivation, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with new technologies and strong computer skills.
- Open availability for shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays, with flexibility to shift schedules twice a year.
- Must meet minimum technology requirements and reside within 60 miles or 1 hour of the Customer Experience Center (CEC).
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation: Hourly rate ranging from $18.00 to $26.70, plus performance-based sales incentives after training.
- Paid Time Off: Eligible full-time Associates can earn up to 48 hours of sick time per year and between 80-200 hours of vacation time (after a 90-day waiting period).
- Holiday Pay: Receive 8 hours of pay for each of 6 scheduled holidays plus 1 floating holiday. Associates working on a holiday due to business needs are eligible for Holiday Premium Pay.
