Job Description

Position Overview

PEPM Group, an award-winning and fast-growing engineering and project management company, is seeking a Lead or Senior Mechanical System Design Engineer. Based in Tulsa, OK and Fayetteville, AR, this onsite position offers a dynamic work environment with opportunities for partial remote work. Location: Onsite in Tulsa, OK or Fayetteville, AR. Schedule: M-F, 8 am to 5 pm CT; WFH one day per week. Travel up to 15–20% is required, and relocation assistance within the US is available.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide facility mechanical system engineering and design including utility, plumbing, and HVAC systems, preferably in food and beverage facilities.
  • Work with compressed air, steam, pumps, process heating, industrial piping, high- and low-pressure water, wastewater, and other subsystems, as well as HVAC systems within manufacturing plants.
  • Design and layout high- and low-pressure water and chilled water systems, steam and condensate systems, thermal fluid systems, compressed air systems, vacuum systems, and other power, utility, and plumbing pipe systems.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, AutoCAD 2D drawings, and Revit 3D models for utility, plumbing, and process piping systems, as well as HVAC systems.
  • Mentor other mechanical engineers and lead the mechanical design team.
  • Field evaluate and gather necessary information.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and fellow engineers.
  • Ensure projects are completed within agreed-upon schedules and budgets.
  • Continuously improve processes based on feedback.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: B.S. in Mechanical Engineering
  • Possession of a Professional Engineering (PE) license in mechanical engineering.
  • Experience Required: 10 to 20 years of facility mechanical system design and engineering experience, including utility, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  • Strong understanding of ASME codes, USDA, FDA, OSHA, and ASHRAE standards/guidelines.
  • Excellent attention to detail with in-depth knowledge of specifications.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and meet project deadlines.
  • A strong work ethic and commitment to quality.
