Position Overview

Telecommunications Technician job at Motley Communications LLC in Gretna, VA. As a Telecommunications Technician, you will install new telecommunications systems, repair and upgrade existing systems, troubleshoot issues via diagnostic tests, and ensure proper operation of all equipment. This labor-focused role includes installing cable infrastructure (CAT-6/Fiber Optics) for commercial customers and might require using ladders, man lifts, and operating scissor and boom lifts. Travel throughout Virginia and North Carolina is expected, with most trips during the work week.

Key Responsibilities

• Install new telecommunications cabling (CAT-6/Fiber Optics) for customers
• Troubleshoot existing infrastructure, run diagnostic tests, and resolve issues
• Upgrade outdated equipment
• Guide customers through new or updated equipment to ensure proper usage
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by wearing proper PPE and following safety procedures

Required Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills
• Previous experience with telecommunications equipment is desired
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work on your feet, in tight spaces, and in various weather conditions
