Position Overview

Join our team as a Sterile Processing Tech Cert at Central Utah Surgical Center and assist in providing properly cleaned, sterilized, and highly disinfected instruments under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Key Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge related to maintenance, cleanliness, and sterilization of instruments and equipment
• Maintain a sanitary environment for the provision of patient care
• Follow manufacturer’s instructions to use appropriate sterilization methods for different instruments
• Apply high-level disinfection and sterilization techniques for endoscopy equipment
• Maintain a daily log, testing the efficacy of disinfecting solutions with each cycle and performing biological testing
• Monitor and record all test loads and sterilization cycles, reporting any deviations to the OR Coordinator and/or Nurse Manager
• Keep an accurate log of equipment sent out for repair

Required Qualifications

• At least one year of experience in surgical instrument sterilization processing, preferably in an acute care or ambulatory surgery center environment
• Valid BCLS Certification upon employment (online certification not acceptable)
• Certification and in-depth knowledge of standards and guidelines from the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) and American Society of Healthcare Central Service Professionals (ASHCSP)
