Position Overview

Our client, a dynamic leader in the logistics and warehousing sector, is seeking an experienced Logistics Operations Manager to oversee and optimize their supply chain functions in Jacksonville, Florida, US. This role involves managing daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient inventory management, transportation coordination, and adherence to safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of logistics principles, excellent leadership skills, and a proven ability to drive efficiency and cost savings within complex supply chain networks. This is a hybrid role that allows for flexibility while ensuring critical on-site oversight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of warehouse operations including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory control.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer service levels.
  • Oversee transportation planning and execution, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
  • Lead and motivate a team of warehouse staff, fostering a culture of safety, productivity, and accountability.
  • Implement and maintain robust inventory management systems and practices.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.
  • Analyze operational data to identify trends, improvement opportunities, and potential risks.
  • Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers and vendors.
  • Prepare operational reports and present key performance indicators to senior management.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics and warehouse operations management.
  • Proven track record of optimizing supply chain processes and reducing operational costs.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management systems (WMS) and transportation management systems (TMS).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Lean/Six Sigma principles.
  • Certification in APICS or similar.
