Position Overview

As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be a key member of the pharmacy team – often the first point of contact for patients and customers – ensuring that prescription fulfillment is prompt, safe, and accurate. You will support operational excellence by following Standard Operating Procedures, contributing to a caring and inclusive environment while completing the necessary licensure and training requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow company Standard Operating Procedures and pharmacy workflow processes to ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment at various workstations (production, pick-up, drive-thru, drop-off).
- Deliver positive patient experiences by showing empathy, providing personalized service, and, where applicable, supporting additional patient health care services like immunizations and point-of-care testing.
- Execute basic inventory activities, including medication delivery management and cycle counts, to maintain efficient pharmacy operations.
- Embrace a team-oriented mindset by being flexible with scheduling, actively seeking feedback, and contributing to a safe, inclusive, and high-performing work environment.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and CVS policies to protect patient privacy, ensure compliance with controlled substance dispensing, and maintain ethical standards.
Required Qualifications
- Must comply with state board of pharmacy requirements governing the practice of pharmacy, including age, education, and licensure/certification.
- If not specified by state requirements, must be at least 16 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent (or be actively enrolled in high school or a high school equivalency program).
- Satisfy state-level licensure and national certification requirements; complete a rigorous company training program prior to performing all duties.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1-3 years of previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Background in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
- Ability to work not only in the home store but also across the market as needed.
