Job Description
Position Overview
The Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit is a member of the patient care team providing competent care tailored to individual patient needs. You will assess patients, develop and implement their plan of care, and collaborate with a dedicated team to coordinate safe and effective transfers or discharges. Compensation: Hourly Wage Estimate: $67.75 / hour.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patients on admission and continuously based on changing needs or unit standards.
- Serve as an advocate for patient and family regarding decisions affecting the Plan of Care.
- Develop, implement, and modify the patient’s plan of care in line with their progress.
- Demonstrate knowledge of disease processes, treatments, interventions, and responses tailored to patient specifics.
- Review physician orders, transcribe accurately to the MAR, and promptly initiate STAT orders.
- Assess, collaborate, and coordinate the patient’s transfer or discharge planning with the healthcare team and family.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
- Current licensure in Nevada as a Registered Nurse.
- Current BCLS certification.
- ACLS within three (3) months of Hire/Transfer.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum one (1) year of recent progressive care nursing experience.
- Proficiency in progressive care nursing procedures and skills, including cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation and mechanical ventilation.
