Entry Level Engineer – Leadership Technical Orientation Program (LTOP)

Position Overview
The Linde Leadership and Technical Orientation Program (LTOP) is sponsored by Linde’s United States Bulk and On-Site unit and offers a 52‐week structured curriculum exposing engineers to all aspects of plant operations and technical cross training. This program is specifically designed for individuals with an engineering/technical degree who aspire to advance into management roles. As an LTOP Engineer, you will support the Linde data historian platform, ensuring safe and reliable plant operations. The estimated start date for the 2026–2027 LTOP program is on or around July 1, 2026. You will be assigned to Tonawanda, NY; however, you must be willing to relocate within the U.S. if needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Support of plant data Historian application and servers
- Custom application development using common scripting languages including Python and PowerShell
- Use of Application Programming Interfaces (API) to automate new and existing processes
- Testing and implementation of upgrades to commercial software applications
- Develop training materials for operations personnel on data historian tools
- Execute projects in accordance with budgets, standards, and facility operating schedules
- Participate in technical sales and business development activities
Required Qualifications
- A B.S. degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar IT related degree
- A 3.0 Grade Point Average (GPA) out of 4.0 is highly desirable
- 0–3 years of experience preferred; prior internship or co-op experience is a plus
- Strong technical skill set with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- A positive attitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build cross-departmental relationships
- Must be a self-starter capable of working independently and as part of cross-functional teams
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, drive issues to completion, and achieve results
- Detail-oriented with the ability and desire to persevere
- Willing and able to travel (typically not exceeding 25% of the time) for assignments, training, or project activities

- Compensation: Pay commensurate with experience; open to salary range $85,000–$90,000.
