Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and test telecommunication systems, including VoIP, SIP trunks, audiovisual, and data circuits.
- Maintain and forecast data and voice cabling needs for the City.
- Perform cable terminations (fiber, Cat6, coax) and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Coordinate contractual maintenance and service issues with multiple vendors.
- Locate cable in response to Miss Utilities notices and clear tickets.
- Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity issues related to voice, data, and cloud-based communication systems.
- Support integration and maintenance of Audio Visual and cloud-hosted communication platforms (e.g., Webex, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or other UCaaS solutions).
- Perform high-level diagnostics on network equipment to identify and resolve network or performance issues.
- Utilize network monitoring and ticketing tools to track system performance and service requests.
- Maintain accurate documentation of installations, configurations, and service activities.
- Ensure all installations comply with safety regulations, building codes, and company standards.
- Provide end-user support and technical training when needed.
- Collaborate with engineers and vendors to support upgrades, migrations, and new deployments.
- Manage and maintain IT Room's to include Preventative Maintenance and UPS monitoring and maintenance.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in installing and configuring telecommunication systems.
- Knowledge of VoIP, SIP trunks, audiovisual, and data circuits.
- Ability to perform cable terminations and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Experience troubleshooting connectivity issues related to voice, data, and cloud-based communication systems.
- Familiarity with network monitoring and ticketing tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud-hosted communication platforms such as Webex, Microsoft Teams, or Zoom.
- Background in providing end-user support and technical training.
- Experience managing small projects and working with subcontractors.
