This position will be responsible for growing revenue from Tampa-based ad agencies and direct advertisers, leveraging all US markets through NBCUniversal Local OTT and digital platforms including NBC Spot On featuring Peacock. The role requires TV ad sales experience with an emphasis on the Tampa DMA, working with Telemundo's linear TV stations in Tampa, Orlando, and Ft. Myers.
The successful candidate will develop an in-depth understanding of our ad products, harness tentpole events, and utilize consultative selling skills to build effective client solutions. Meeting quarterly revenue targets, ensuring customer satisfaction, and executing product implementations are key to this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop both general and Hispanic market sales revenue from new advertisers as well as maximize revenue from assigned accounts in Tampa, FL.
- Own, manage, and develop relationships with agencies and advertisers throughout the complete sales cycle—from proposal development to invoicing and post-analysis.
- Build and present consultative sales presentations that combine industry knowledge with market trends to deliver tailored client solutions.
- Collaborate with Creative Solutions, Marketing, Research, and digital teams to ensure integrated campaign delivery and execution.
- Develop and maintain deep expertise in the NBCUniversal portfolio, including Telemundo and digital properties such as Peacock.
- Engage with key stakeholders in both linear and digital/programmatic buying ecosystems to promote product portfolios and secure sales.
- Prospect new business opportunities using industry events and professional networks.
- Stay informed of industry changes and maintain working knowledge of research product updates.
- Participate actively in team and station projects, special sales events, and weekly sales meetings.
- Accurately report quarterly revenue pacing and communicate client progress to Local Sales Manager.
- Complete tasks such as posting, forecasting, and tracking new business prospects with your manager.
- Aggressively pursue and develop strong business relationships with buyers, media planners, and brand managers in your territory.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in advertising sales or media (linear and digital), either with a media company or agency.
- Knowledge of the linear and digital media market.
- Experience in Broadcast, Cable, Digital, Streaming, or related fields.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent driving record and an active driver's license.
- Must be able to work in Tampa, FL.
- Unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience selling advertising/sponsorships to ad agencies and direct clients.
- Strong experience with Excel, PowerPoint, and Salesforce.com.
- Self-starter capable of thriving in both corporate and start-up environments.
- Excellent knowledge of industry trends, technologies, pricing models, and ad campaign metrics.
- Strong ability to collaborate, coordinate, and execute a successful sales strategy.
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to accurately identify, assess opportunities and apply appropriate resources and strategies.
