Position Overview
Material Handler – 2nd Shift. Location: Riverside, CA. Salary: $19.00 - $25.71 per hour depending on experience. Keep the Floor Moving — Be the Power Behind Production! As a Material Handler, you’re the driving force behind the scenes—safely operating forklifts and straddle lifts to move big materials and keep everything running like clockwork. You’ll navigate the floor with purpose, keeping the production line stocked, the team moving, and the trucks rolling. Ready to take the wheel and make an impact every shift?
Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload freight while ensuring items are accurately checked in.
- Log item numbers for unidentified materials to maintain precise inventory.
- Utilize the JDE system to track inventory moves and support daily operations.
- Maintain a well-organized and hazard-free warehouse environment.
- Count, sort, and organize parts to ensure proper stock placement.
- Load and unload trucks to support continuous production flow.
- Follow written orders, specifications, and labels, including hazardous material warnings.
- Assist in physical inventory counts and reconciliation efforts.
- Help train and guide new team members on floor operations.
- Manage hazardous waste in line with regulations and company procedures.
- Follow company safety policies and support training to foster a safety-first culture.
- Switch between sitting and standing as needed, and confidently lift up to 50 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- Forklift experience is a must for safe and efficient operation of forklifts and straddle lifts.
- Demonstrated ability to adhere to all safety standards and truck/trailer protocols.
- Proficiency in accurately loading/unloading freight and logging inventory details.
- Competence in using computers and quickly mastering the JDE system.
- Ability to read and interpret written orders, specifications, and measurements.
- Strong organizational skills to support effective inventory management.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing tasks that include standing, walking, bending, squatting, and reaching overhead.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Comfortable using computers and navigating essential tools.
- Experience with roof coil and door rack change-outs.
- Familiarity with Poindexter Production System initiatives such as 5S, Lean, and TPM.
