Marketing & Communications Specialist

Position Overview

With a hybrid work environment combining at least three days in the office with up to two virtual days, our team plays a pivotal role in internal and external communications, creative production, and editorial leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather material through research, interviews, and correspondence.
• Select appropriate stories and features for publication, writing articles, headlines, and captions.
• Negotiate with vendors for pricing on printing and related services.
• Oversee graphic design, layout planning, and production of the employee magazine, Farmers Today, as well as other company publications.
• Coordinate photo shoots, editing, proofreading, typesetting, and distribution for various publications including the Corporate Responsibility Report.
• Collaborate with internal clients, leadership teams, and regional associate editors to ensure timely and accurate content delivery.
• Manage special projects as assigned by the Corporate Communications Manager or Director of Editorial Services.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred in Journalism or English.
• At least five years' experience as an editor or assistant editor, with proven skills in writing, editing, layout, pricing, and budgeting.
• Proficiency in photography, graphic design, printing production, and desktop publishing, as well as strong interviewing and information gathering skills.
