Position Overview
The Analytics team is looking for experienced Data Scientists and Senior Data Scientists to guide measurement, strategy, and tactical decision‐making across the company. At DoorDash, Data Scientists work to uncover insights and turn them into actionable recommendations that drive decisions across Consumer & Growth, Business Operations, Dasher & Logistics, Customer Experience & Integrity, Merchant, Ads & Sales, New Verticals, and International Data Science teams.
As a Data Scientist, you will leverage your quantitative background to mentor peers and dive into large datasets to address challenges such as customer acquisition, fraud and support, marketing, supply–demand balancing, new city launches, and marketplace efficiency.Compensation:The successful candidate’s starting pay is determined by job-related factors and will fall within the following ranges:

$184,300—$271,000 USDIn addition to base salary, equity grant opportunities may be available.
Key Responsibilities
- Use quantitative analysis and data presentation to uncover core business drivers.
- Build full-cycle analytics experiments, reports, and dashboards using SQL, R, Python, or other statistical tools.
- Work with and mentor junior analysts to leverage advanced methods in solving business challenges.
- Produce recommendations and utilize statistical techniques like hypothesis testing to validate findings.
- Provide insights for business and product leaders on marketplace dynamics, user behaviors, and trends.
- Identify and measure levers to impact essential metrics and drive actionable recommendations.
- Work backwards from problem definition to ideate solutions with a data-supported approach.
- Report against goals by developing executive-facing dashboards to track progress.
- Collaborate with engineering to implement, document, validate, and monitor logging systems.
Required Qualifications
- A degree in Math, Physics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a similar field.
- 2+ years of experience in data analytics, consulting, or a related role.
- Experience with funnel optimization, user segmentation, cohort analyses, time series analyses, and regression models.
- Expertise in SQL queries, ETL, A/B testing, and statistical analysis using tools such as Matlab, R, SAS, or Python.
- Proficiency in one or more analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Chartio, Looker, Tableau).
- Ability to take ambiguous problems and solve them with a structured, hypothesis-driven, data-supported approach.
