Position Overview
Sumerian Entertainment Group is a forward-thinking independent entertainment company with a record label, film studio, publishing division, and touring arm. We champion diverse creatives while producing impactful content across music, films, books, and live events. We are seeking a Business Development Manager/Director to drive strategic partnership and sales initiatives, cultivate new business opportunities, and unify our sales and growth strategy across all divisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a multi-division business development strategy for our record label, film projects, publishing titles, and touring products.
- Identify and pursue new revenue opportunities across brand partnerships, sponsorships, licensing, sync, distribution, and experiential activations.
- Build and maintain a robust prospecting pipeline with agencies, brands, media partners, streaming platforms, production companies, and distributors.
- Lead outreach, pitch meetings, and proposal deliveries to secure new partners and long-term relationships.
- Develop integrated partnership programs aligning brand objectives with our entertainment content and talent.
- Collaborate with marketing, creative, film, and artist-relations teams to customize partnership solutions for campaigns, releases, and events.
- Oversee execution of partnership deliverables ensuring mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Create polished pitch decks and sales materials tailored for brand sponsors, investors, distributors, and strategic collaborators.
- Maintain a library of updated templates, case studies, and company overview materials.
- Manage and optimize the company CRM to track leads, proposals, and closed deals through regular reporting.
- Leverage your industry relationships to drive new opportunities across music, film, publishing, and live entertainment.
- Represent the company at industry events, festivals, meetings, and conferences.
- Stay current on entertainment trends, brand marketing developments, and cultural insights to identify new partnership avenues.
Required Qualifications
- 4–10 years of experience in business development, partnerships, brand strategy, or sales within entertainment, media, music, film, or related industries.
- Strong knowledge of partnership marketing and how brands engage with entertainment content and IP.
- Proven track record of creating and pitching decks successfully to brands, agencies, sponsors, or distributors.
- Established entertainment industry relationships across music, film, media, or brand sectors.
- Proficiency in CRM systems such as HubSpot, Salesforce, or Airtable.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, creative, and entrepreneurial environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience at an indie label, production company, publisher, management company, or touring/promoter organization.
- Understanding of licensing, sync, brand integration, and entertainment marketing strategies.
- Existing brand and agency contacts across consumer verticals such as lifestyle, tech, beverage, fashion, gaming, and sports.
