Engineering Technician I

Position Overview

We are seeking a Product Development Tech for our San Diego, CA facility. This person contributes to the completion of routine technical tasks and develops solutions to routine technical problems of specified scope. Their contacts are primarily with their immediate supervisor, project leaders, and other professionals in the unit.

Key Responsibilities

• Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data—including laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes—and produces engineering documents, reports, and drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, schematics).
• Prepares reports and summaries, including quantitative analysis.
• Completes technical tasks while providing support to engineers on various assignments.
• Helps scope equipment for use and complete qualifications.
• Participates in general lab functions, including calibration, safety procedure implementation, and routine equipment maintenance.
• Notifies the manager or team lead upon identifying factors that may affect project progress.
• Assists in developing prototype processes and test set-ups, executes designed test protocols, conducts testing, and documents as well as communicates test results.
• Supports hardware debugging.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum education requirement: high school diploma.
• At least 3 years of experience in a lab or regulated environment following written procedures and working collaboratively within a team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to understand and perform designed test procedures.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team.
• Demonstrated capability in developing solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope.
• Proficiency in personal computers.
• Ability to train lower-level technicians.

Benefits & Perks

• Compensation (Pay Range): $25 - $34/hour
• Bill Rate: $31.75 - $43.18/hour
• Submittal rate is determined by BD after interview.
