Job Description
Position Overview
This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. Identified as a position necessary to support the mission of the US Cyber Command, it is in the Professional Work Category at the Full Performance Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure and located in the DISA FE45. The role supports the Defense Information Systems Agency by ensuring the reliability, accessibility, and security of information systems.

Key Responsibilities
- Responsibilities: Implement policies and procedures to ensure information systems reliability and accessibility and to defend against unauthorized access.
- Conduct risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed information systems to identify vulnerabilities, risks, and protection needs.
- Promote awareness of security issues among management and ensure that sound security principles are integrated into the organization’s vision and goals.
- Conduct systems security evaluations, audits, and reviews, and develop security contingency plans and disaster recovery procedures.
- Serve as an ISSM or ISSO in the Compartmented Enterprise Services Office (CESO).
- Provide technical support and guidance to staff on a wide range of information technology issues.
Required Qualifications
- Requirements: Demonstrated attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving skills through experiences such as reviewing work for accuracy and briefing management on project status.
- Experience Required: At least one year of experience providing technical support and cybersecurity guidance across various IT disciplines, including implementing information security management. Candidates should clearly describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factors.
- Education: There is no substitution of education for the qualifying experience at the GG-12 grade level.
