Family Office Accountant

Position Overview
Jaco Oil Company is seeking an experienced, degreed accountant – preferably with a CPA – to join the Family Office. In this role you will handle financials, accounting, cash flows and related reporting responsibilities. You will prepare financial reports and support executive management, with a particular emphasis on oil and gas, real estate, and fiduciary accounting. This position is ideal for a highly ambitious individual with excellent communication, strong time management skills, and the ability to work both independently and interdependently. The role reports to the Family Office Controller.
Compensation: $75,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year. Job Types: Full-time, Part-time. Work Location: In person. Relocation: Bakersfield, CA 93308 (Relocate before starting work).
Key Responsibilities
- Manage data transmittals and handle financial and accounting records
- Oversee cash flows and prepare detailed financial reports
- Support executive management as required
- Collaborate on financial analysis, ensuring compliance with fiduciary standards
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- At least 3 years of accounting experience
- Excellent interpersonal communication and time management skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA certification (preferred)
- Strong computer proficiency with MS Office products
- Willingness to learn MS Dynamics and other enterprise software
- Experience with oil and gas, real estate, and fiduciary accounting
