Position Overview

From CNN to The Huffington Post, the world is talking about the innovative movement to downsize global poverty. The Borgen Project, an international organization working at the political level to improve living conditions for people impacted by war, famine, and poverty, is leading a national campaign to make poverty a focus of foreign policy. With 20 years of advocacy experience that has benefited nearly 500 million people in developing countries, The Borgen Project is now offering a Social Media/Digital Marketing Internship. This part-time, remote internship runs for 12 weeks at 12 hours per week, with flexible start dates as new programs begin every month.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creating a branding campaign.
  • Conducting an informal focus group and gathering feedback for market research.
  • Pitching story ideas to print, broadcast and digital media.
  • Creating and implementing a fundraising strategy.
  • Planning, marketing and presenting at an informational meeting.
  • Utilizing social media and developing strategies for web-based messaging.
  • Assisting with The Borgen Project's advocacy efforts.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience Required: No prior experience is necessary; we are looking for individuals who are passionate about fighting poverty and righting wrongs regardless of background.
