Account Executive - Public Sector
Our Public Sector Account Executive team is focused on closing experience gaps within local government entities including cities and counties. Through Qualtrics’ SaaS Experience Management platform, this role drives immediate wins by landing new business and expanding relationships over time. This position is ideal for a proactive hunter with grit and hunger who can build trust, engage multiple stakeholders, and navigate longer sales cycles in a highly consultative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively hunt new business opportunities with local governments across assigned territories.
- Manage and expand relationships within 10-15 current accounts, focusing on cities and counties segmented by state.
- Navigate contract negotiations and multi-stakeholder decision processes with transparency and honesty.
- Partner closely with internal teams including Professional Services and Subject Matter Experts to tailor solutions that meet client needs.
- Maintain expert understanding of Qualtrics’ Experience Management platform and competitive landscape to shape winning proposals.
- Deliver consistent quota attainment by balancing a rigorous hunting approach with strategic account development.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated resilience and proactive drive in a SaaS sales or account management role.
- History of hunting new business and maintaining a robust pipeline with a tactical, volume-driven approach.
- Familiarity with longer sales cycles (6-9 months) and typical deal sizes roughly $15k-$30k or larger.
- Skilled at navigating complex procurement processes, contract negotiations, and stakeholder management.
- Proficiency with CRM systems like Salesforce.com and sales methodologies such as MEDDIC.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience selling into local government or similarly structured public sector organizations.
- Ability to forge meaningful relationships with local government decision-makers across multiple states.
- Strong communicator who builds trust internally and externally at all organizational levels.
- Experience selling SaaS solutions with a consultative approach, preferably within the public sector or similarly complex industries.
- Ability to navigate longer sales cycles of 6-9 months while consistently driving deals averaging $15k-$30k.
