Job Description

Position Overview

The X-Ray Technician role at ChenMed is designed for innovative professionals who perform radiological procedures while delivering compassionate care. Working under the supervision of physicians, PAs, or NPs, you will ensure patients are comfortable, accurately record examinations, and maintain high quality and safety standards—all in a fast‐paced, rapidly expanding primary care environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Position patients under the X-Ray machine, adjust immobilization devices, and provide appropriate radiation protection.
  • Administer routine X-Ray exams and assist in physical examinations and treatment procedures such as injections, dressing changes, or suture removal.
  • Adjust equipment settings — including exposure length and intensity — and perform minor equipment adjustments as needed.
  • Prepare reports, maintain accurate records of services rendered, and manage radiological film files and logs.
  • Assist with additional patient care activities including EKGs, phlebotomy, and other procedures to support physicians and nursing personnel.
  • Maintain quality control standards, patient confidentiality, and adhere to company protocols and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant and X-Ray Technician program with Medical Assistant and X-Ray certification.
  • Graduate from an accredited Radiological Technology or Basic X-Ray Machine Operator program.
  • At least 1 year of x-ray technologist experience in a healthcare environment (or as required by employer).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross (if not held, to be obtained within the first 90 days).
  • Experience working with geriatric patients and familiarity with EMR systems.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, effective communication skills, and fluency in English.
  • Licensure and/or certification as required by state regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Two years of x-ray technologist experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Additional experience with EMR systems.
