Job Description

Position Overview

The Sports and Experiential Marketing Lead will support the planning and activation of GEICO's vast portfolio of sports sponsorship and experiential marketing efforts. You will collaborate with internal teams such as Creative, Social, Operations, Media, Analytics, and Agency teams to bring sponsorships and experiential activations to market. This role requires strategic thinking, a self-starter attitude, and the proven ability to multitask, prioritize, and innovate while ensuring that all creative elements align with brand and business objectives. You must be comfortable working closely with various stakeholders as our marketing organization rapidly evolves and integrates new functions. This position operates on a hybrid model – three days in the office (Bethesda, MD; Manhattan, NY; or Chicago, IL) and two remote days – and reports to the Sr. Manager, Sports & Experiential Marketing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead contract fulfillment, activation, and reporting of sponsorships and activations.
  • Act as the liaison with the Creative team to ensure assets are developed per program needs and best practices.
  • Support cross-functional teams in all aspects of sponsorship management and experiential marketing.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to execute sponsorship and experiential activations.
  • Ideate, innovate, and pitch effective and differentiated activations to shape and continuously enhance strategy.
  • Manage partner contracts, agency relationships, and event ticket distribution.
  • Lead projects, discussions, presentations, and timelines while initiating process improvements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a sports-related field is preferred.
  • 5+ years of sponsorship and experiential marketing experience.
  • In-depth understanding of the sports landscape and key stakeholders including teams, leagues, and college sports.
  • Experience driving omnichannel campaigns and executing contract negotiations.
  • Strong ability to manage relationships and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Exceptional organization, attention to detail, and prioritization skills across multiple projects.
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be available to travel up to 25% of the time.
