Machine Learning/Data Science Engineering - General Opportunities

Position Overview

System1’s Machine Learning & Data Science team is at the forefront of leveraging AI-assisted and AI-agented development methodologies. In this role, you will help build, tune, and maintain large language models that power innovative AI and ML advertising solutions while collaborating with a talented team that values continuous learning and technical excellence. Location: Los Angeles area (hybrid).

Key Responsibilities

• Build, tune, and maintain large language models powering AI & ML advertising solutions.
• Develop text and image generation capabilities while managing extensive datasets for experimentation.
• Utilize generative AI tools (e.g., Claude, Cursor, Gemini, ChatGPT) to shorten development cycles.
• Mentor team members and support the integration of advanced AI-assisted development methodologies.

Required Qualifications

• Strong foundation in computer science, machine learning, and data science fundamentals.
• Familiarity with Python, Dataiku, AWS, and Snowflake.
• Ability to analyze edge cases, limitations, and implications in complex engineering solutions.
• Proven experience with AI-assisted and AI-agented development methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience mentoring or leading engineering teams.
• Curiosity and passion for continuous learning and professional development.
• Experience with generative AI tools such as Claude, Cursor, Gemini, or ChatGPT.
• Familiarity with participating in AI industry events or meetups is a plus.

• Compensation: Base salary + bonus + equity with a base salary range of $120,600 - $242,700.
