Telecommunications Technician

Position Overview

LinTech Global Inc. is recruiting a Telecommunications Technician for a contract at NMCP in Naval Medical Center Portsmouth. This 100% onsite role in Portsmouth, VA involves planning installations, transitions, and cutovers of network components. You will establish communications systems by installing, operating, and maintaining voice and data circuits and equipment – including fiber optic and copper cabling, data information outlets, communications racks, patch panels, and telecommunications wiring. In addition, you will test circuits using state-of-the-art test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment, perform troubleshooting, coordinate with vendors, and research new technologies to ensure effective telecommunications services.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with Cisco 6500 series layer 3 switch and related equipment.
• Assist in telecommunications network analysis, design, implementation, and maintenance.
• Diagnose faults and perform minor repairs on telecommunications equipment.
• Install, run performance tests, modify, troubleshoot, and repair wireless and telecommunications systems.
• Integrate efforts from various engineering and technical disciplines to deliver cohesive fiber-optic network solutions.

Required Qualifications

• Associate's degree in a related field or equivalent (three years of relevant work experience may substitute).
• Three years of experience and working knowledge of all phases of wide area, fiber-optic telecommunications network design, including network operating systems, software and hardware integration, and infrastructure planning/installation.
• Three years of experience conducting network performance analysis.
• Three years of experience in telecommunications maintenance, vendor relations, and systems procurement recommendations.
• Strong attention to detail and troubleshooting ability.
• Security+ce Certification
• NACLAC Clearance
