Position Overview
Ally is hiring a Senior Data Analyst, Marketing with 5 - 10 years of experience. This role is based in Detroit, MI, United States and follows a Hybrid working model. As part of the Data Solutions Support team, you will leverage platforms like Snowflake to build best-in-class data management and analytical pipelines for Ally's Auto Lending Team.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop curated data layers for analytics and Business Intelligence, supporting multiple lines of business.
- Build a centralized data warehouse in alignment with Ally's Enterprise Data & Analytics standards.
- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines, collaborating with the data engineering team for production migrations using SQL, Python, and Snowflake.
- Apply data warehousing principles and architecture patterns to construct reporting data marts in on-premise and cloud databases (e.g., Oracle, Snowflake).
- Extract and integrate data from traditional warehouses, big data ecosystems, and cloud sources to support critical business analyses.
- Partner with business teams to translate needs into tools, metrics, dashboards, and data quality monitoring solutions.
- Utilize advanced SQL and Python skills to build data tables and generate comprehensive reports; familiarity with SAS is a plus.
- Work within Agile methodologies using tools such as GIT, Visual Studio, Jupyter Notebooks, and DBT.
- Stay current with industry trends and lead the development of innovative data and analytics platforms.
- Ensure production reporting stability and performance while managing competing project priorities and communicating risks effectively.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Management, Data Science, Management Information Systems, Business Analytics or related field.
- Strong understanding of Auto Lending processes and data.
- Proficiency with DBMS platforms such as Snowflake, Oracle, and SQL Server along with advanced SQL skills.
- Hands-on experience with data platforms like Snowflake and DBT, as well as advanced reporting using Power BI.
- Solid programming skills in Python and familiarity with Agile project methodologies and version control (e.g., GIT).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant field is a plus.
- Experience with SAS is desirable.
