Computer Network Architect (Job ID: 3670)

Position Overview

Valkyrie Enterprises is seeking a Computer Network Architect (Job ID: 3670) to provide network and IT design support at San Antonio-Lackland Airforce Base, TX, 78236. This position is on-site and contingent upon contract funding. Applicants must have TS/SCI security clearance.

Compensation: $40 - $50 per hour

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and design data communication networks
• Present network plans to management staff
• Provide network design, IT support, and assistance with security, design, and documentation of the network
• Collaborate with management to determine networking needs
• Oversee network implementation, including scheduling and budgeting
• Manage information and network security
• Implement hardware and software upgrades as needed
• Perform maintenance and repairs to network equipment
• Maintain documentation of networks, including drawings, descriptions, and configurations
• Research network technologies and stay updated on industry advancements
• Implement new server and network hardware along with corresponding software solutions
• Ensure all network systems (servers, firewalls, routers, switches, VPN devices, cabling, wireless routers, etc.) function and communicate properly
• Track system end-of-life and specify replacements when needed
• Document existing systems and develop plans for new system implementations
• Perform regular inventories of existing IT equipment and report discrepancies
• Provide assistance and guidance to IT Technicians

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years' experience in Network Architecture and Design
• Advanced understanding of networking protocols and procedures
• Experience with tier 1 network hardware in a production environment
• Advanced understanding of Microsoft OS and server applications (i.e., Exchange) in a production environment
• Extensive experience with hardware/software troubleshooting and analysis
• Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and set priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and customer support skills
• Must have TS/SCI security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• IAT Level III Networking certification is preferred
