Business Analyst W/ Energy Utility Exp

Position Overview

We are seeking a Business Analyst with experience in the Energy Utility Industry, specializing in Retail Energy and Natural Gas. In this contract role based in Baltimore, MD and offered fully remote, the candidate will drive process improvements, lead projects, and collaborate with cross‐functional teams. The position closes on Jan 16, 2026.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and optimize business processes through requirements analysis and documentation.
• Lead meetings, presentations, and stakeholder communications to drive decision-making.
• Manage projects from planning to execution, including resource allocation and cost efficiency.
• Coordinate user acceptance testing to ensure solutions effectively meet business needs.
• Provide leadership, training, and guidance to junior staff while supporting change management efforts.

Required Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in business or a related field (MBA preferred) with a minimum of 5 years in business analysis.
• Proven experience in the Energy Utility or Retail Energy business, particularly with Natural Gas.
• Strong background in Agile methodologies, requirements gathering, and project management.
• Exceptional analytical, documentation, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of the Natural Gas and Retail Energy sectors.
• Practical experience with story development and acceptance criteria at Epic, Feature, and detailed story levels.
• Familiarity with Agile tools including ADO and Microsoft Tools.
