Civil or Mechanical Engineering Telecom Co-Op (May-Dec 2026)

Position Overview

Farnsworth Group, an engineering, architecture, and surveying firm with 135 years of history and over 600 professionals, is seeking a Civil or Mechanical Engineering Telecom Co-Op (May-Dec 2026) in Frisco, TX; Lisle, IL; or St. Louis, MO. In this role, you will work closely with experienced engineers on energy and utility projects, contribute to innovative design and project support, and be part of a collaborative group that champions your career and embraces work-life balance.

Note: Housing, relocation, and transportation assistance are not available for this position.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual through final design and record drawings of utility lines and related facilities
• Conduct field visits to collect data and evaluate existing, pre-design conditions
• Prepare construction documents and assist with administration
• Perform cost estimating and material specifications
• Provide general project and office support

Required Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a BS in Civil or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum
• Willing to work full-time during the summer and fall semester from May – December 2026
• Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project
• Excellent communication skills
• Must be willing to travel and possess a valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience or exposure to MicroStation or AutoCAD is preferred but not required
