Job Description
Position Overview
ICU RN's provide highly specialized care to patients who suffer from a serious injury or illness. They continually monitor patients whose conditions may undergo rapid changes and care for those who are often too ill to care for themselves in even the most basic capacity. ICU RN’s primarily work in the ICU unit of a hospital, sometimes referred to as Critical Care, and may be asked to float to units such as PCU or Tele.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide highly specialized care to critically ill patients in the ICU.
- Continuously monitor patient conditions and respond promptly to rapid changes.
- Assist in patient care across various units when needed, including PCU or Tele.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – 4-Year Education or Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) – 2-Year Education
- Requirements: Must pass the NCLEX exam, hold an active RN state license, and have ACLS and CRRT certifications as often required
