Position Overview
Northern Trust, a Fortune 500 company with over 130 years of expertise and 22,000 partners, is seeking a Financial Content Writer for its Asset Management Marketing team. In this role, you will transform our investment expertise and deep market insights into compelling content—from long-form articles and research papers to engaging infographics and video scripts—that supports strategic marketing goals and builds brand awareness. Reporting to the Head of Content Strategy and Communications, you will work closely with investment experts, marketing managers, and sales leaders to craft thought-provoking content tailored for institutional, wealth, and intermediary audiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Craft thought leadership across various formats including articles, videos, infographics, market insights, e-books, and research papers.
- Partner with the Head of Content Marketing to develop content that drives lead generation and engagement within targeted marketing campaigns.
- Execute timely, concise, and actionable content while meeting deadlines and budget requirements.
- Generate compelling ideas that align with marketing and business goals, highlighting the unique value of our investment solutions.
- Collaborate with investment experts, product managers, sales leaders, and compliance teams to ensure smooth and aligned content execution.
- Ensure all content adheres to brand voice and messaging guidelines, creating memorable and engaging narratives.
- Tailor content for diverse client segments with an understanding of their sophistication and specific needs.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously to guarantee timely and high-quality deliverables.
- Communicate content plans and performance results to stakeholders and provide data-informed recommendations.
- Stay updated on financial market developments to ensure content remains relevant and insightful.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, marketing, journalism, or a related writing-focused field.
- 5-7 years of experience in content marketing and investment thought leadership writing for an investment manager.
- Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate across marketing, investment, sales, and product teams.
- Deep understanding of financial markets, investment products, and economic concepts with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, concise content.
- Experience creating visually engaging infographics and a variety of content formats, with strong editorial judgment.
- Excellent multi-tasking abilities to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to drive content strategy and effectiveness.
- Familiarity with US and International regulatory requirements.
- Driven, self-motivated, and high-performing with a collaborative work style.
