As a Principal Product Designer on our Incentive Compensation Management (ICM) product line, you will lead design initiatives, own large problem spaces end to end, and influence product direction alongside Product, Engineering, CX, and executive leadership.
Location: Hybrid (in-office 3 days per week) – Menlo Park, CA; Austin, TX | Remote – Raleigh, NC; Nashville, TN; Toronto, Canada
Compensation: $168,920–$201,880 (range based on location and individual performance, with additional incentives as part of CaptivateIQ's total rewards package)
Key Responsibilities
- Define and drive the design vision for a major product area, aligning closely with Product and Engineering leadership.
- Lead and guide design across multiple teams, reviewing work and setting the standard for craft, systems thinking, and execution.
- Identify and lead complex, high-impact initiatives that shape customer and business outcomes.
- Design and evolve foundational systems, architectures, and reusable patterns to ensure cohesion and quality across the platform.
- Mentor designers and elevate team execution through guidance and collaboration.
- Co-lead with senior Product and Engineering leaders to influence product strategy and prioritization.
- Enhance team collaboration by proactively identifying and addressing gaps in execution or quality.
- Stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies (including AI) to continuously improve product experiences.
- Communicate at all organizational levels through clear, concise documentation that articulates vision, direction, and tradeoffs.
Required Qualifications
- 12+ years of experience designing B2B SaaS products, ideally enterprise, platform, or systems-heavy software.
- Demonstrated success leading company-critical, high-impact initiatives as an individual contributor.
- Exceptional proficiency in UX, UI, system design, and interaction design with a proven track record of quality standards.
- Deep product, domain, and business acumen, with the ability to influence strategy and connect design decisions to commercial outcomes.
- Experience designing complex, data-heavy, and workflow-driven systems at enterprise scale.
- Proven ability to mentor and elevate design talent, including senior- and staff-level designers.
- Ability to operate with high autonomy, navigate ambiguity, and create clarity in complex environments.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and visual communication skills, with the presence to influence at the executive level.
- Strong judgment and leadership presence to drive team alignment and accountability without formal authority.
