Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning and Execution
  • Develop business requirements for analytics and media tagging needs for client’s digital properties and marketing campaigns.
  • Creates tagging specifications for web platforms and applications based on business requirements.
  • Diagnose issues and audit current platform configurations and tags, providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Translate the measurement plan into technical specifications including tagging and data capture requirements.
  • Develop and modify JavaScript code to execute data collection/tracking.
  • Create and maintain documentation related to data layer implementation requirements.
  • Provide best in class implementation of 3rd party tracking tools (Doubleclick, Adwords, Comscore, etc.).
  • Implement tag management solutions (Google Tag Manager, Adobe Dynamic Tag Manager, Tealium, etc.).
  • Partner with development teams for user acceptance testing and implementation.
  • Quality and Process Improvement
  • Perform all QA of tagging to ensure business requirements are properly met.
  • Ensure quality assurance of all work products by the team, adhering to delivery timelines and contractual SLAs.
  • Develop and implement coding practices for site tagging in line with industry standards.
  • Recommend measures to improve efficiency and/or quality of tagging.
  • Develop key process documentation for the tag strategy and implementation process.
  • Serve as the "Tagging Implementation Expert" by evolving and managing the solution design reference documentation which outlines analytics variables, rules, and use cases.
  • Web Analytic Expertise
  • Work with peers in the marketing and analytics teams to create, manage, and enforce digital analytics tagging standards ensuring robust and consistent data capture for analysis.
  • Develop reports in web analytics tools (e.g., Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics) to support operational reporting for end users.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of industry best practices and changes in analytics platforms, and identify how they impact existing clients.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert to the web development team on troubleshooting and resolving tag implementation issues.
  • Participate in development and training sessions.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience working with both manual and tag management analytics implementations and using troubleshooting tools (e.g., Developer Tools, Tag Assistant, GA Debug).
  • Experience in implementing and developing reports via web analytics solutions (Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, Quantum Metrics, etc.).
  • Proven experience with analytics strategies across multiple sites and apps, diverse platforms, and high-traffic environments.
  • Knowledge of general web best practices in SEM, SEO, and UX.
  • Proficiency in web markup and front-end development (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript).
  • Ability to communicate effectively with developers and technical teams.
  • Strong technical and communication skills to clearly articulate processes and tasks for tag management implementations.
  • Experience with training non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience with a tag management system (e.g., GTM, DTM, Tealium).
  • 4+ years of experience implementing and using web analytics tools (Adobe Analytics/Omniture, Google Analytics, IBM Digital Analytics/Coremetrics, and/or Webtrends).
  • 2+ years of experience implementing 3rd party tracking tools (Doubleclick, Adwords, Comscore, etc.).
  • 2+ years working with raw clickstream data (using SQL, Python, etc.) to develop custom reporting.
