Position Overview
The Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) is seeking an experienced and passionate Social Media Manager for the New York Sirens. In this role, you will manage all social media channels, creating and posting engaging content that supports ticket sales, partnerships, broadcast initiatives, and other elements of the PWHL ecosystem. This position is crucial for growing the fan base and maintaining the league’s dynamic online presence.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy that aligns with the league's objectives.
- Stay abreast of industry trends to ensure an innovative and relevant social media presence.
- Plan and curate compelling content calendars for all social media platforms.
- Create engaging multimedia content (photo, video, graphics, etc.) showcasing team personality, achievements, and behind-the-scenes moments.
- Foster a vibrant online community by actively engaging with fans through comments, messages, polls, and Q&A sessions.
- Lead real-time live coverage of games and team events, providing updates and highlights as needed.
- Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with influencers, brands, and stakeholders.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on social media metrics to inform future strategies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Social Media Manager, preferably in the sports or entertainment industry.
- Strong copywriting skills with the ability to craft engaging, on-brand content for diverse platforms.
- Deep understanding of social media platforms, trends, and best practices.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud and the ability to shoot and edit photo and video content.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A creative mindset with the ability to think outside the box.
- Experience with social media analytics tools.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends for live events.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Compensation: Annual salary range of $55,000 - $65,000 USD.
