Position Overview
The Accounting/Finance Manager plays a critical role in supporting HATCI’s mission to advance Hyundai Motor Group’s innovation and growth in North America. This role leads key accounting functions—including fixed assets, cash management, and the corporate credit card program, which underpin the company’s financial integrity and operational excellence.
This position partners closely with cross-functional teams and global stakeholders to improve processes, support a growing and evolving organization, and enable data-driven decision making. This is a unique opportunity to balance hands-on ownership with strategic influence in a fast-paced, technology driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsibilities: Own and manage core accounting functions, including fixed asset accounting, cash management, and the corporate credit card program, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end activities related to assigned areas.
- Manage and support the process of ASC 842 Lease Entries.
- Convert TB from GAAP ASC 842 to IFRS 16.
- Ensure the integrity of balance sheet accounts by proactively identifying issues, resolving discrepancies, and strengthening documentation and audit readiness.
- Design, maintain, and continuously improve processes and internal controls to support evolving business needs.
- Partner cross-functionally with teams such as IT, Legal, and HR to support operational initiatives and compliance.
- Support year-end audit fieldwork.
- Prepare revenue and ASC 842 worksheet.
- Lead a dynamic team by providing guidance, mentorship, and ensuring high-quality output and professional growth.
- Travel up to 10% domestically and internationally as needed.
- Perform other tasks as needed to meet business needs and objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or related field; CPA preferred.
- Experience Required: 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including support for fixed asset accounting, cash management, and corporate credit card or expense programs.
- Qualifications: Experience working in a complex, fast-paced, or growth-oriented environment; exposure to month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes; proven ability to design and improve internal controls; strong analytical skills; effective communication skills with the ability to explain accounting concepts to non-accounting stakeholders; and a demonstrated commitment to professionalism, discretion, and integrity when handling confidential financial information.
