Position Overview
The County of Riverside's Assessor - County Clerk - Recorder (ACR) is seeking a Marketing, Media, and Communications Coordinator assigned to the Admin Communications Unit in Riverside, CA. This dynamic role is responsible for providing public information about all aspects of the ACR, organizing and communicating events for government agencies and private functions, and creating presentations, social media posts, and various marketing content. Some travel within Riverside County required.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, assign, and supervise the work of subordinate staff; coordinate public outreach activities and produce all County department/agency publications and intramural communications.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of marketing, media, and communications services, campaigns, and organizational events.
- Originate and research complex media or digital program topics; plan production content for marketing or media program communications.
- Manage the creation and distribution of marketing, media, and communications materials for assigned service lines.
- Prepare and negotiate contracts and memoranda of understanding with County agencies and external organizations for communications campaigns, video/digital programs, media productions, and related training materials.
- Develop budgets, cost estimates, and manage departmental operating budgets including contract negotiations.
- Design and coordinate all aspects of marketing communications, media, or digital planning and production, including technical and artistic development.
- Plan production schedules, select and direct talent involved in media or digital productions, and oversee editing of media and printed communications materials.
- Recommend the purchase of departmental marketing/media equipment and collaborate with various units to support training and community outreach activities.
- Act as a consultant to department management regarding public relations and marketing aspects of its programs.
Required Qualifications
- OPTION I: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in communications, healthcare marketing, healthcare communications, marketing communications, advertising, or a related field. Experience: Three years producing marketing, public relations, and/or healthcare education communications programs (including copywriting, production planning, directing, and editing).
- OPTION II: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in communications, telecommunications, broadcasting, media arts technology, instructional media technology, theatre, film and digital production, or a related field. Experience: Three years producing documentary, marketing, public relations, and/or education video or digital programs with at least six months involving marketing and distribution.
- Knowledge of healthcare marketing principles, supervision and training, public health and human services programs, as well as marketing, media and communication design and production techniques (including advertising, sound recording, photography, scriptwriting, staging, lighting, and editing).
- Ability to lead and provide creative direction in planning communications campaigns and media/digital productions, convert ideas into effective audio-visual presentations, develop innovative solutions to complex challenges, and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Preferred Qualifications
- For OPTION I, a Master's degree in healthcare communications or a closely related field is preferred.
