Position Overview
The Customer Service Consultant provides quality and professional customer service that consistently meets or exceeds Company standards of excellence and customer expectations. The position is directly responsible for creating an effortless customer experience by answering questions about products, orders, and services available through the homedepot.com e-commerce platform. The representative handles multiple calls daily, performs sales and product/order inquiry transactions, and works to simplify the customer experience through speed, accuracy, empathy, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Answers inbound phone calls, assesses customer needs, and provides accurate solutions while handling inquiries, order placements, and follow-ups.
- Drives customer loyalty by delivering excellent customer service and accurate product knowledge, reducing customer effort in orders, shipping, and returns.
- Keeps customers informed on the status of their orders, reconciles errors cost-effectively, and resolves post-order issues such as returns.
- Acts as a liaison between customers, manufacturers, and freight carriers when needed.
- Meets or exceeds performance requirements including accuracy, schedule adherence, and speed to resolution.
- Partners with the escalation group for additional order support and complex customer case handling.
Required Qualifications
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 2 years of work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- College Degree preferred.
- 3 or more years of customer service or retail sales experience is preferred.
