Job Description

Position Overview

Our client is a privately held, growing New York-area government contractor providing Information Technology Services to city, state, and federal clients. They are seeking a skilled IT Cloud Specialist for a full-time onsite role at a client location in Manhattan, New York City/Newark, New Jersey. Reporting to the IT Project Manager, the specialist will assist in the design, implementation, management, and support of cloud computing networks using Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), and Citrix technologies to ensure a smooth end-user experience, optimal performance, and strong security.

Key Responsibilities

  • Configure, implement, manage, maintain, troubleshoot, and support IT cloud solutions within Microsoft Azure and Citrix Cloud.
  • Configure, install, and update cloud software, manage user accounts, and monitor networks and system performance.
  • Assist in designing, deploying, and managing VDI solutions such as Citrix XenDesktop/XenApp or Microsoft AVD.
  • Manage documentation, contribute to improvement efforts, and automate processes using scripting.
  • Oversee VDI image management and troubleshoot issues related to Citrix VDI and AVD while ensuring high availability, disaster recovery, and collaboration with IT security teams.
  • Work closely with Project Management, IT, Engineering, and other stakeholders to ensure all business requirements are met.
  • Implement and support new client requirements and customizations.
  • Engage consistently with clients and stakeholders to maintain strong relationships and high satisfaction levels.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with relevant IT cloud certifications (Microsoft Azure, AWS Cloud, Google Cloud, CompTIA Cloud+, or CCSP). Additional certifications for VDI (e.g., VMware VCP-DTM, Citrix CCA-V/CCP-V, or Microsoft AZ-140) are a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience implementing, managing, and supporting large-scale IT cloud networks and platforms.
  • Strong technical expertise in VDI (including Citrix and/or Microsoft AVD), Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Citrix ADC, and Citrix Cloud services, along with proficiency in Windows Server administration, Active Directory, and networking concepts.
  • Hands-on experience with scripting languages (such as PowerShell) and familiarity with monitoring tools for Citrix environments.
  • Experience with other virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and knowledge of security best practices for virtualization and remote access.
  • Experience with Project Management principles (ITIL, Scrum, LEAN, Agile, or DevOps), strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with a proven track record of working collaboratively with internal teams, clients, and technology partners.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to pass a required background check and/or security clearance. Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.

  • Base Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000 (commensurate with experience and qualifications)
